Pickup truck rolls over near Bay Minette, kiling 32-year-old man

BAY MINETTE, Ala. -- A 32-year-old man was killed this morning in a single-vehicle accident west of Bay Minette, Alabama State Troopers said.

The victim was identified as Jonathon Anthony Smith Sr. of Bay Minette, spokesman Trooper Greg Eubanks said. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene after the 7:30 a.m. wreck.

The crash took place on D’Olive Street about two miles west of Bay Minette. The street is Bay Minette’s main east-west thoroghfare from the courthouse to Ala. 59.

The street continues for about three miles beyond Ala. 59 until it meets Tall Pine Road.

Eubanks said Smith was in a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup when he left the roadway and overturned. Eubanks added that Smith was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.

Eubanks said an investigation into what caused Smith to crash is continuing.

Daphne man killed in an accident vehicle-1 West of the Bay Minette

BAY MINETTE, ALA-Daphne a man was killed early today when his vehicle left Hurricane Road about 10 miles west of Minette Bay and violently in a culvert, says Baldwin County Coroner Stan Vinson.

Michael j. Ederer, 41 years old, died shortly after being ejection from the vehicle, said Vinson.

Spokesman of the Alabama State Troopers rider Greg Eubanks said that ederer was not wearing a seatbelt sécurité.Ederer was transported to North Baldwin infirmary in Minette Bay, where he was pronounced dead, Vinson said.

Eubanks said that it is has not yet been determined if alcohol was a contributing factor in this accident it said the wreck has been reported on shortly before 12 pm.

The accident remains under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers, he said.
