John h. Hankinson Jr. was appointed CEO of the new Gulf Coast ecosystem restoration Task Force by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa P. Jackson.
President signed Obama order earlier this month, establishing the task force, which aims to coordinate efforts to implement programs and restoration projects along the Gulf Coast.
Hankinson is used in an environment and conservation land consultant, Advisor on the conservation of wetlands, the strategic use of land and environmental management policy in South-East of the United States constructive decision-making according to the information provided by the u.s. EPA it was regional administrator of the EPA Region 4 from 1994 to 2001.
Hankinson worked on the estuary of the national programme in the Gulf of the Mexico and led the development and implementation of a plan for the protection of quality water for the's Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.
As Executive Director of the Gulf Coast ecosystem restoration Task Force, Hankinson will be responsible for coordinating interagency efforts, supervise staff and awareness efforts to develop a strategy for regional ecosystem restoration and to ensure that science supports EPA officials said task force.
Jackson, the administrator of EPA, held the first meeting of the Gulf Coast ecosystem restoration Task Force on 8 November in Pensacola.Plus information on this meeting will be announced later.
