Here it is, the University of Alabama fans: your new tartan Crimson

TUSCALOOSA (Alabama) - Think Alabama fans are concerned about their school colors? an impressive 410,170 votes have been cast and a panel of judges voted "We Are purple" was chosen as the official of the University of Alabama tartan.

Drawing winner come from Linnzi Rich of Stevenson, junior majoring in clothing, textiles and interior design.Rich was announced as the winner of the College of Environmental Humanities of recent convocation Homecoming.

Design, mainly Crimson and white with black and gray accents is stored in index of Tartan International, maintained by the Scottish Tartans Authority and the national registry of Rich tartan.Conception is also integrated with merchandise for purchase.

Rich will receive a $1,000 scholarship as a percentage of sales by tartan.Les additional profit will be placed into a scholarship fund to help human Environmental Sciences students.

The design contest has been reduced to three finalists, Rich, Brittany Long and Candace Lucas.Les student designers had to create pleas were indicative of past the UA and the present.

Online voting results were given to a group of independent judgment which took into account to select official tartan of the AU.

"I wanted my tartan to be easily recognized as plaid University," Rich said its design. "Then, I naturally wanted the predominant colors to be Crimson and white with black accents and gris.Deuxièmement I wanted to represent the whole of the University, so I used 13 lines to represent 13 colleges that comprise the University of Alabama today.

"And then, in the Centre of the design, the intimate white square represents Denny Chimes and the whole central Quad because the Quad is at the heart of the campus.Aux plaid corners of Scottish Centre talk about our past and represent the four original buildings that survived the fire set by Union troops during the civil war."
