Stockton Landmark District vote: amendment concerned residents two could get washed with wave "vote no".

STOCKTON (Alabama) - started nearly a decade ago Stockton residents working on legislation to preserve the character historically flavoured their city.

"This change affects only us," said Stockton resident Lynn Hastie-Bozone Friday. "It will cost you nothing."

Hastie-Bozone, daughter of the late historian Davida Hastie, said efforts to protect the heritage of the city and rich history that still places started color more than nine years ago.

"A group of us started working a long time ago, we could keep our history and maintain our identity," said Hastie-Bozone. "There was no other district of heritage in the comté.Nous would be the first to ensure that we had to pass by the legislator and a vote of origin.

The nearest town, Minette Bay officials expressed no objection to the amendment.

"It prevents annexation unless people voted to join another city or re-incorporate city", said Bozone Hastie.
