Local groups obtain financing abuse prevention

MOBILE, ALABAMA - eight groups in the region have received grants totaling $281,000 to fund 11 programs that address the prevention of child abuse and neglect, officials with the Ministry of health in mobile County.

Those who receive grants include: TEEN Center of the Ministry of health for the County of mobile, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Alabama YMCA, court appointed Special Advocates Mobile Exchange Club family Center of mobile, Gulf of the Mexico goodwill Easter Seals the Gulf regional care, preschool for persons with sensory disabilities and mobile United Cerebral Palsy Centre Agency.

Milton Jackson, Director of the Alabama Department of abuse and child neglect prevention field is expected to present checks of the State Fund Trust children's organizations at 10 a.m. today in the atrium of the Plaza of Government.

Child Trust Fund was established to promote and fund community-based programs to prevent child abuse and neglect, said organisateurs.Plus 160 programs in the State are funded for 2010-2011, said responsible for health.

Programs address prevention through education and support visits home, mentoring, programming school, extracurricular activities, public awareness and training the parents.Le respite care and fatherhood initiatives annual grant process is competitive and selection is based on measurable and effective prevention programs.
